<p>We would like to inform you of upcoming scheduled  maintenance to our  fibre line between <strong>4D Data Centre – Telehouse North</strong>,    during which your  services may be a subject to a brief packet loss,    while the redundant  paths re-route the traffic and OSPF protocol    re-calculates the costs. Please note, this is  an <strong>“Service affected”</strong> announcement. Due to essential splicing work to increase capacity, our provider will   be moving our fibre to a new circuit. If any unexpected problems occur   the circuit will be restored using the existing cable, fibre and   patching.</p>
<p><strong>Justification:</strong><br />
Essential network maintenance to increase capacity.</p>
<p><strong>Regression Details:</strong><br />
This is a full cut, so if there are any issues then the circuits will be restored, as quickly as possible.</p>

<p><strong>Description of Work:</strong></p>
<p>C4L will reconfigure the device Donatello to support the maximum MTU and then reload it . Customers directly connected to this device will experience an outage of up to 5 minutes whilst the device reloads. Customers not directly connected will experience packet loss whilst spanning-tree and layer 3 routing re-converges.</p>
<p><strong>Justification:</strong></p>
<p><strong>M</strong>aintenance in order to resolve issues affecting customers sending packets with large frame sizes .</p>

<p>We have been advised of the following planned maintenance work being  carried out at the TelecityGroup Memaco House:</p>
<p><strong>Description:</strong></p>
<p>TelecityGroup will be carrying out a deep clean of customer suites  and data floor areas at Memaco House from the 11th – 22th June 2012.</p>
<p>Please be advised that our specialist cleaning contractors will need  to enter your dedicated area to carry out the deep clean. Any spare  equipment or items on the floor will need to be cleared or moved to  enable the cleaning works to be completed. Please make arrangements to  clear any items on the floor within your area prior to commencement of  the deep clean. If any items are found on the floor when our cleaning  contractors enter your area, TelecityGroup’s engineers will move the  items to an alternate location and place the items back once the  cleaning is complete.</p>
<p>The cleaning contractors will ensure that suites doors are closed and  as an additional security measure, TelecityGroup has arranging for  dedicated security personnel to be in attendance whilst the cleaning  contractors are working in your area to maintain our high security  levels.</p>
<p>We do not anticipate any impact to your service whilst these works  are ongoing. There may be short periods when some floor tiles in your  area are raised during the cleaning works, however this will have  minimal impact to the cooling in your area and the tiles can be promptly  reinstated back into position if you need to access your dedicated  area.</p>

<p>Dear Customers,</p>
<p>At 16:45 today, our monitoring system alerted us to the fact that one of the power supply units in Kusanagi is failing.  We are taking immediate action to resolve this by replacing the PSU.  Engineers are already en-route to the DC now with a replacement unit.</p>
<p><strong>Description of Work:</strong><br />
Power supply replacement in Kusanagi.  Whilst this should be a simple replacement of a faulty power supply on a device with resilient power, customers should consider themselves at risk should anything go wrong.  Engineers will remain at the rack where the switch is for a period of time after the work is completed to ensure stability and to be instantly available should anything go wrong.</p>

<p><strong>Justification:</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong>Emergency maintenance in order to bring up the redundancy in the Kusanagi switch.</p>

<p>Dear C4L Customers,</p>
<p>You are receiving this email as notification of the following maintenance work that will be carried in Bluesquare &#8211; please note this is “<strong>Service Affecting”</strong> maintenance:</p>
<p><strong>Start Date and Time: </strong>19:00 05/05/2012</p>
<p><strong>End Date and Time: </strong>00:00 06/05/2012</p>
<p>The maintenance window is set for up to one hour but in the event of failure, a further 4 hours has been allocated to ensure normal service can be resumed.</p>
<p><strong>Where:</strong></p>
<p>Bluesquare, Maidenhead.</p>
<p><strong>Description: </strong></p>
<p>Network Switch Upgrade.</p>
<p>C4L as part of a phased approach to improving our service at Bluesquare will be replacing one of the switches servicing your connectivity.</p>
<p>C4L will be replacing the switch “Non” located BSQ3 floor 1, with a 10 Gb capable device. A 10 Gb fibre will then be disconnected from “Platini” on the ground floor of  Bluesquare 3 and reconnected to the new device. This will provide the starting point for a new 10Gb ring within the Bluesquare Datacentre. All customers directly connected to “Non” will be migrated to the new 10Gb capable device.</p>
<p>Additionally a 10Gb link between BSQ3 ground and BSQ3 floor 1 will be introduced.</p>
<p>During the insertion of the new switch and 10Gb links, customers not directed connected to “Non” will see traffic drop as layer 2 and layer 3 re-converges. There will also be some packet loss experienced when Vlans are migrated to the new 10Gb infrastructure.</p>
<p>During future planned maintenance windows, further 10Gb capable devices will be rolled out across the Bluesquare network to replace the existing legacy devices enabling C4L to complete the 10Gb ring.</p>
<p><strong>Justification:</strong></p>
<p>Certain customers within Bluesquare Maidenhead have been experiencing latency issues due to bottlenecks on the C4L network. As traffic flows have increased the latency issues and packet loss during peak times have reached unacceptable levels and need to be addressed as a priority. We wish restore the confidence with our customers in the C4L network and would ask that you bear with us whilst we implement this upgraded infrastructure.</p>

<p>We would like to inform you of upcoming scheduled  maintenance to our  fibre line between <strong>Bournemouth – Telecity HEX 8&amp;9 DCs</strong>. Please note, this is  an <strong>“At Risk Only”</strong> announcement.</p>

<p>We would like to inform you of upcoming scheduled  maintenance to our  fibre line between <strong>4D Data Centre – Telehouse North</strong>,   during which your  services may be a subject to a brief packet loss,   while the redundant  paths re-route the traffic and OSPF protocol   re-calculates the costs. Please note, this is  an <strong>“Service affected”</strong> announcement. <p><strong>Description of Work:</strong><br />
Due to essential splicing work to increase capacity, our provider will  be moving our fibre to a new circuit. If any unexpected problems occur  the circuit will be restored using the existing cable, fibre and  patching.</p>
<p><strong>Justification:</strong><br />
Essential network maintenance to increase capacity.</p>
<p><strong>Regression Details:</strong><br />
This is a full cut, so if there are any issues then the circuits will be restored, as quickly as possible.</p>
